Reversible Destiny Collection
In the research for my final project, I was exposed to a theory called 'reversible destiny' by Madeline Gins and Shusaku Arakawa. They claimed that in order to live an immortal life, a person has to feel uncomfortable physically. I gave their theory an interpretation of my own and claim that a person who stays in their 'comfort zone' isn't really alive. The project's goal was to create a garment that challenges the wearer to think and communicate as a group, to produce something new - as an individual and together as a group. It was created through embedding technology that detects the wearer's movement and transfers it into sound. Any movement, personal or joint, affected the sound played in space. The collection aesthetics is influenced by sound waves. The clothes are dynamic and vary according to the wearer's movements and sound.
