I was spending my last summer with my Greek friend in a Greece island, Alonissos, where we volunteered on a ship in the area of the island.

During this week, we became very close to Kostas, the ship's captain, and he decided to take us to the island, Peristera, a small island where only two ninety years old people live. They hosted us amazingly and showed us the small planes that their seventy years old son made of old cans.

I was fascinated by their way of living and started reading about the island. It turned out that on that small island, there were Saracens pirates in the Byzantine times.

The thought that these two people would disappear from the world, and there would be no trace of their heritage on the island was sad for me. Thus, I chose to "crown" them as the island king and Queen. In the project, I decided to use the simple materials that they would use, such as ropes and cans.
